这是您的一斤人肉

Postby cmcpress » January 18th, 2013, 8:58 pm

Ok - so the lyrics on this first bit are shit, but I'm just singing nonsense that fits the melody. And I'm certainly no singer, and yes there's a few bum notes where I'm just fucking about - and it needs a lot of work. Fuck I need to work with a singer really.

I like this a lot - I like what it develops into. I was, however, aching for some pads under the first third....

Cheers Boss! I need to write some decent lyrics I think. What I might do with these is wang the stems up here when finished and then if anyone wants to remix parts or play around with it they can.

Do it. I'd love some stems.

Awesome! I could go for some big orchestal strings in there. the second half is commercial gold. this has got top 10 written all over it, you just need to get it into the hands of the right peeps. best thing you've ever done, by a mile.

@Grant @Eddie @Pom - anyone who's got a mic - fancy contributing some football chanty vocals to the end section?

Always imagined it as a big football crowd to end.

Very good, love the second part when the drums come in. Maybe some orchestal strings in there like Eddie already said.

Hey Jez. Great Song.

But I really don't really like the sonic palette that you are using.
Its too thin top endy I think. lacks a distinctive "flavour" to the sounds. Its the kind of Sound that Radiohead can get away with because they record most of it live and that adds a lot of air and character. but without that it sounds too generic in palette.

I"d ditch the fast pitter patter drums, change all the drum sounds to more electronic ones. make the bass dirtier, add more reverb and bass to the guitar to muddy that up a bit.

the vocals are really good though.

haha. Well it's not finished - this is just a rough sketch. I didn't think it sounded too much like anything else - I'm not really a Radiohead fan (I like the stuff i've heard, but not too much) so can't really comment. It was just a case of trying to do something which conciously wasn't electronic. I'm a bit bored of extreme bass and compression, so just wanted to do something a bit more experimental compared to what I usually do - and also, listening to some older tracks where it's all about melody and dynamics rather than bass.

But it does still need a lot more work. I'm kind of at a breakpoint for what to do with it - assuming I can't get some more vocals doing the chant at the end..
