Yes - you need to re-register and other points

Postby admin » March 19th, 2010, 10:45 am

Yes, you need to re-register. It is a pain and will take up about 25 seconds of your life, and for that I apologise. On the other hand, it lets us know that the people who are here want to be here, and aren't just here cos they got migrated.

Yes, the just finished GYBO will be back online as an archive. Give me a bit of time to sort out the links.

No, we can't give you GYBO radio on this board (although it will still be on the old one when it's up). Same goes for random tunes, top tunes etc.

You can ONLY POST AN MP3 LINK between [mp3] tags. NOWHERE ELSE.

Any questions?

The importing posts question I've answered where you posted in in GYBO FAQ.

The one we had before the light blue one was Joomla, another content management system. Also rickety. I think the most popular solution is a straightforward message board. It was certainly the format GYBO had when it was at it's most popular.

Yeah the light blue GYBO was a bit odd but are we gonna keep changing the whole site and having everyone re-register every few months or is this place ever gonna settle down??

This is it. You can't blame us for trying other things - after all, we're just trying to promote you and your music. Not bad for the time it takes to register, which - let's face it - is a very short amount of time indeed.

I think I'm going to like this new/old board better. I never got the hang of searching/listening to tunes on the last version. (I only tried once, mind.)

Yay!

I couldn't get used to the last board for so many reasons and used it far less as a result, but I didn't want to complain after all Grant's hard work! I did like the database feature, but I can live without it to have the old board back - feels kind of comforting.

I'm probably like everyone else, in that I really liked the last incarnation for streaming the tunes from the front page, to give me an overview of what was happening, but I do like me some c. 2002 oldskool board action. Whatever Grant chooses for us, I'm behind!

And a huge welcome back for the mixes board too, that should keep my iPhone busy in the car!

Yep.. hadnt been on a few days n thought 'Where? What? Who? Why?'..... and relaxed

Back to the good old days of simple msg boarding n being able to read it without squinting..

Who gives a tossle about wot John Lennon says in the TV AD about Anti Retro, this is how I liked my cake baked..

Nothing wrong with flashy websites but its not really suited to plain n simple msg boards... smash a few bells n buttons on in the coming months for those who liked some of the features of the last website but this is proper old skool..

Is this GYBO 5.1.. 5.5.. or 6 even hehehe?

You are saluted ;)
